Cluster deployment

Build and expand an X2 cluster

Install every node identically, give it unique addresses and storage paths, then join it through the existing cluster. Membership persists in consensus; static seed lists are not the cluster database.

01

Install the first cluster node

Choose the server operating system, configure durable object and metadata paths, create the bootstrap administrator, and start the native service. Confirm readiness before enrolling another machine.

03

Install the new node using the same guide

Follow the normal platform installation from download through service startup. At Configure this node, choose Join existing cluster and paste the link into Command Assist. The generated command adds --join-link; all other installation steps stay the same.

04

Verify cluster membership

The service enrolls, receives the current cluster state, and becomes available after catch-up and readiness checks finish.

Validate before adding traffic

Confirm readiness, version equality, consensus catch-up, disk and metadata-root health, and the expected capacity in the Admin UI.

Publish one client endpoint

After all intended nodes are ready, route public Console and S3 traffic through health-aware NGINX or HAProxy backends. Keep TCP 9443 mesh traffic private and direct between nodes.
